My research focuses on how the ocean is changing due to increasing atmospheric CO2 and the associated changes in climate. Both those external factors alter ocean carbon storage and affect ocean chemistry and biology. Often I use ocean models constrained by observations to test hypotheses and help understand trends, variability, and extremes in carbon and related variables in the ocean. I am a Senior Scientist at the Climate and Environment Sciences Lab (LSCE) at the French CEA, which I joined after doctoral and postdoctoral studies in Oceanography (Texas A&M University and Princeton University).

Currently, I serve as Chair of the SOLAS-IMBER Working Group on Ocean Acidification (SIOA) and as co-Chair the Ocean Model Intercomparison Project (OMIP), which includes physical and biogeochemical components and is part of Phase 6 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP6). I am also coordinator of a French ANR project focused on changes in Southern Ocean biogeochemistry (SOBUMS).
